Goodbye Grandma Gooch

Hey Grandma... we love you so much.
We are going to miss you... miss our visits with you... eating endless cheesies... dancing our hearts out at Friday night Happy Hours... joining in on random fun events and watching you get a strike in bowling and then the kids joining in as well...  and I will miss you reaching out for my hand and saying, 'Kimberly... you are the one with the twins, right? I had twins once...' And I would say, 'Yes you do Grandma!  Twins... they are a lot of work, hey?!' And you would say, 'Oh no, not really. They were good. It was just fine.'
Everything was always just fine with you, Grandma. If there was ever a lesson to be learned in not complaining you would have been the perfect teacher!

The kids and I sat on the couch today and cried and laughed and talked about our memories of you. It was lovely to reminisce about my childhood visits at your house... trying on all your high heeled shoes and fancy jewellery and clomping up and down your hallway... trying to catch frogs in your little pond... playing the game of Life... jumping back and forth over the wrinkled ridge of carpet that ran down the centre of your living room... petting your kitty cat Abby... walking up to your house with a bucket full of kittens to show you... or riding up on our horses and stopping in to say 'hi'.
I love you so much Grandma! Thanks for all the wonderful memories.

I am so thankful that you hung on these last few years so that my kids got to know you a little bit.
I am also thankful that you found your time to let go... to be resting peacefully at last.

We love you Grandma.
Give Grandpa a big hug for us... I am sure he is up there doing headstands in heaven!
I imagine you'll be watching over us, until we meet again...

Rainbow playdoh!

Here it is:

And that's the extent of this post.

I still haven't cleared up any space on my computer... which has made me take considerably less pictures... which in a way is refreshing... but also annoying as I am stuck with the most recent picture I can put up on this blog post being from February.

And I finally have a horse now... so a post about that would be nice.
But, like I said, now I have a horse... so I REALLY have no time no want to make time to figured out my picture storage options!!! LOL
Oh man... the posts on this thing were already few and far between... what's gonna happen now?! :)

An all nighter!

Well I just pulled an all nighter... last night... today... whatever... I was up all night I am too tired to care about proper wording!
But wow you can get a crap load of stuff done in a full 24 hours! I'll just have to wait and see what the next 24 or 48 hours brings!!! LOL

Come to think of it the last.. and only time I have ever pulled an all nighter before was in high school just to try it out and see what it was like... and what it was like was so NOT worth it in the following days! But then again I could have tried going for 48+ hours awake that time... I can't remember, teenagers are weird like that... all I know is I reached total delirium!

Anyhow this time it will be worth it... totally worth it!

Tick tock...

... or just tick!
(Even though it could be: tick tock tick tock... when are you ever gonna post again lady!)

We spent a few days camping down at our favourite spot: Writing on Stone! We had beautiful, summer weather. Which is crazy as there was still snow in spots on the south side of the river as it had apparently just melted in the campground a few days before we got there!

And the day we were leaving to head back home Shayla pulled a tick out of her hair... or head actually... she did have the bite mark.
So, after baths at home, we checked everyone and Mya had a tick chomping on the back of her head as well. She took it quite well... after the initial scream and panic. We carefully removed it with tweezers... the little sucker was hard to pull off and took a small chunk of skin with it.

Once we were done and the kids were snuggled on the couch awaiting snack and story, Jax followed me into the kitchen. He patted me on the leg, looked up at me with a very serious look on his face and said, "Mom I love my sister so much. I'm so glad you got that tick off... cause if that tick ate Mya ALL up I would have cried and screamed."

So sweet and made me giggle at the same time.

Imagine that teeny tick eating Mya ALL up... she's my baby girl and I still feel like she's so little... but not THAT little!!! ;)

(Disclaimer: After empathizing with Jax, I did explain that a bug that small would never be able to eat a person all up. They just take a teeny tiny bite or two before we squash them!)

The Baja... Mexico!

Yes, we did actually come back from Mexico!
I guess I put some pictures up on Facebook and then totally forgot about my blog.
Also my computer is crammed full of pictures again... didn't this just happen a couple of months ago... and I could only upload half of the pictures from our trip. So, I think, I was also kind of waiting until I did something about that! Which I still haven't done anything about that... so I decided to just put up some pictures from what is uploaded on my computer... turns out it is still quite a lot! Really just missing some of Vanessa and Jeryn's house/property pictures... for some reason one picture of their gate is on my computer and that is all!

So here are some pictures from our Mom and Daughter trip!
We had such a wonderful time! It was so fun to camp right on the beach and have such wonderful hosts, who knew the area and had their own wheels to take us to lots of cool spots! The caves we explored during low tide where amazing and the waterfall oasis hike was so pristine and peaceful with only us there! And then of course all the ocean fun; boogie boarding, surfing, swimming, fishing, sand castle building, examining sea creatures, rocks and ocean life... oh and of course all the delicious two dollar tacos and fresh fruit! Mexico!

Although, apparently, when I take the other three kids on their special trips I really only have to go to Lillooet because Tristan randomly says 'Mom I can't wait to go on my trip and have Amelia copy everything that I do! I am so excited for her to do that to me!' (She'll still be doing that in a couple of years... right Vanessa?!!! ;) And Mya and Jax say, 'We can't wait to see baby Rueben walk in the sand. Baby Rueben is sooooooo cute!
And then they sometimes add this crazy plea as well: 'Mom why can't you have another baby? Please Mom, pleeeeeease?!!!' To which I respond: 'No way! Nope! Our family is complete kiddos! Four is the perfect number for me!'
So I guess it is up to you Vanessa... Tristan, Mya and Jax would really appreciate it, if you plan to have another baby or two before their special trips to the Baja, ok?!!!! LOL

Oh Mexico... I had such a great time there with my darling Shayla!
Thank you!
