'I don't know who signed me up for this anyhow'

The speaker of the above comment was Shayla.
And the this being school.

I hear ya girl.
I would have rather been out digging up a pasture, over run by burdock or shovelling chicken crap out through the beehive infested poop removal opening in the chicken coup or hand milking a young cow trying to establish a nasty kicking habit. Well, the third example I'd probably rather be doing over a long list of other things... cause I'm weird like that.

It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round and being of the outdoor, introvert, manual labour variety, school was not one of my favourite things. To say the least!

I suppose someone should tell her that she better settle into this, as she's got approximately 2875 days to go.

And I want to know too... who signed us up for this?!
Oh right, I did.

Homeschooling.... here we come??? ;)

Too funny!
Homeschooling is always an option... BUT then as parents we are always "schooling" are kids anyway.
Of course, I'm not a good one to give advice on whether to home school.... as I actually loved my school years and then I reloved school years through all you four kids! :)
What has "ticked" Shayla off in school?
One thing I do hate is when teachers (or the system) stifle kids' "Sense of Wonder" and their thrill and excitement in "doing" it their way!
Love Mom :)

What?! I thought she was loving school? What happened??
She has the best way of wording things :)
Homeschooling looks way more compact and less time wasting in the kids lives... but I really wouldn't want to be my kids mom, teacher, principal and all other things involved with kids being home all day everyday! However, maybe a child not liking or hating school would change those feelings for me... ?
Good luck to you and Shayla!

Shayla was super excited to start with and then slowly has been saying things like, it's too long, it's hard work... and I know it is just an adjustment, being gone and doing something else, but I do wish kindergarten was still more about play then ABCs and math... They are only 5 people!
That being said, I am so glad we are in Alberta where kindergarten is still only half time. I could not imagine her going 5 full days a week!
And yeah Mom, that is one of the things that worries me the most... the stifling of individuality and creative thought!
But, no, I am not seriously thinking of homeschooling... yet! :)

I love Shayla's comments. So funny! Change is hard, for all of us. Hopefully the days will seem less long and she'll get into a groove. And I think that because you are her mom she will never loose that sense of wonder.... and because she's Shayla she won't loose the idea of doing it her way 😉
I agree with Vanessa - I don't think I could be all of those people to my child, and still feel saine. Mind you, for some it works great!
Good luck to you all!
