Our backyard skating rink!

It started like this.
Eventually. It was warm and windy that day and the kids were having so much fun playing in the billowing/blowing tarp/tent it was hard to quit that and get onto this:
But we did get down to business. Eventually.

And in perfect time for the cold snap.
And after lots of cold fingers and frozen hoses, it ended like this:

Turns out, even if you live on the prairies, your yard is probably not actually flat!
But even with one corner determined not to fill with water and freeze...
Your own backyard rink is an absolute blast!

Now get outta here you darn chinook...
I am slightly obsessed with this project and want it to stick around a lot longer!!!

Wow, great rink Kimberly! Any wrecked hoses??
Looks like lots of fun out skating, what a wonderful winter pastime to have right in your back yard :) plus your kiddos will get just enough hockey time they may not feel like they need to play on a league ;)

And on another note, I got my birthday wish to read a new (to me) post! I haven't been keeping up again!
